Agent Academy: What is the secret of our success?
In this episode, we discuss what made the biggest impact in building my business.
“How did you get there?” is the first question that I receive from agents.
The first thing to understand when you are looking at somebody who has developed a business is that “no one is born that way.”
It is a journey which is developed from where you are at or perhaps where you once were to where you want to be.
Everyone has to go through this journey. There are different paths you can take.
The key is identifying the way to accelerate the journey.
When I see a new agent or someone who has millions of dollars in sales volume it doesn’t matter. What I actually look at, to see if agents are going to be successful is:
- People they hang out with
- People they are learning from
- Ideas they have exposed themselves to
- Their active learning capacity
- Status of open sharing within their circle of influence in the agent community
- Books they read,
Most importantly, the individual’s willingness, ability, and consistency in implementing what she/he learned makes all the difference.
That’s it!
The secret to growth and acceleration is to avoid the mistakes that others have made.
It will, in turn, shorten the learning curve.
I can trace back my growth from $10 million to $20 million. I had attended a Mastermind in Kentucky, surrounded by agents who were doing truckloads of transactions. I wasn’t even aware that those sorts of transactions were physically possible.
But it led me to have a new mindset. My business plan had expanded and my entire outlook on this industry had changed.
When I developed the buyer’s division in the business, I entrusted it to the right person and eventually to the right people. I could trace back the growth from the time when I stepped out of the listing side, to when we hired the right operations team.
The secret sauce of all of our business is what happens in the back of our house, our client experiences.
I could tell you from whom I learned each of those steps, who influenced me, and who taught me through their previous experiences. If it hadn’t been for those people in my life, my growth would have been much slower.
There are various paths and questions which you need to figure out for yourself.
Who’s in my world? Who am I interacting with? Am I concerned right now with being somewhere where I am paying the lowest fee? Am I more concerned with making more money?
Am I growth-oriented?
